Our first step was to meet with Superior Materials’ management team to understand their business, corporate culture and online objectives. Based on that discussion, we edited and reorganized some of their existing content and recommended specific pieces of additional content. We also created a content structure for the website that was user friendly and easily navigable.
Concurrent with our content work, we began designing the corporate logo and homepage. After going through several different design variations and integrating the feedback we got from management, we arrived at the final design versions.
We chose WordPress as the platform for the new website because of its stability, scalability and its easy to use content management system. We modified the basic WordPress CMS admin panel to allow the company to easily add new products and partners to be displayed on the website. What was previously a tedious and repetitive manual activity for company staff would now be quick and painless.
Without needing to add, change or even view a single line of code, a staff member can now simply enter text and images into clearly defined fields and have them display perfectly in multiple predetermined areas of the website. Most importantly for the client, they no longer need to pay a developer each time they want to add or update information on the website.
We then completed designing and building the entire website with the updated content, optimized each page for SEO and added and configured plugins to secure the site from hacking attacks and to make sure it loaded as quickly as possible. We also made sure that the site was responsive, so that it looks equally great on desktops, tablets and mobile devices.
